I founded Bloom Therapy in 2014 as a solo practitioner with a niche/passion for utilizing the mind/body connection for complete and efficient healing. Throughout this past decade of experience, I have come to deeply understand the healing process, and have developed, through a combination of education, practical experience, conceptual understanding, and intuitive guidance, a way of working with clients that helps them deeply, thoroughly, and efficiently heal in phenomenal, life-changing ways. I have come to call this method “Present Pulse Recognition Therapy”. This name describes a mastering of creatively and flexibly combining numerous pre-existing therapeutic methodologies, combined with the practice of operating from certain specific premises, which I have come to know are deep spiritual truths, or to put it another way, laws of nature. With a solid conceptualization of the mechanisms which create both wounding and healing, and an understanding of how we co-create our reality with other human beings, I’m able to use PPRT to help people from all walks of life release what is no longer serving them, and create their preferred experiences and realities.
I received my Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University in May of 2012, graduating with Honors, and I hold a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas at Austin. I also hold a Certification in Clinical Hypnosis through ASCH, and formerly served as board Secretary for the Central Texas Society of Clinical Hypnosis. As a long-time Certified Yoga Teacher for over a decade, I have specialized training in Integrative Yoga Therapy and Phoenix Rising Yoga Therapy. I have been counseling adults in a private/group practice setting since 2011, and licensed as an LPC since 2012, providing guidance through most common human experiences, including depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse in childhood, relationship problems, self-esteem issues, transition periods, identity crises, spiritual struggles, time-management difficulties, dating dilemmas, and separation/divorce. Over the years I have cultivated a very intuitive and integrative way of working that allows me to guide people through deeply healing sessions, and to do so very efficiently.
As I was fine-tuning my skills and growing rapidly as a therapist, it became evident that my skillset was in high-demand, but short-supply. I was helping clients deeply heal the root causes of their suffering, rather than teaching coping mechanisms or simply lending a non-judgmental ear for them to talk to. The work was powerful, invigorating, and fulfilling, but my waitlist became overwhelming. While there were some clinicians I could confidently refer out to, I didn’t feel the referral options were numerous enough to always provide me with a peaceful knowing that people in need would be able to access services similar to what I was offering. I began receiving strong spiritual guidance to obtain my supervisor’s license, and to begin teaching and mentoring new therapists in my theoretical orientation and methodologies, so that my expertise and experience could help more people, more quickly.
In October of 2019 I became licensed as an LPC-Supervisor, with the goal of helping nurture new therapists to be highly effective clinicians and increase access to high-quality psychotherapy. This additional training and qualification allows me to oversee the work of newly/provisionally licensed therapists while they complete their 3000 Associateship hours towards independent licensure. I also was impassioned with the drive to provide exciting opportunities for newer therapists to feel supported, nurtured, and grow their skillset, while earning fair compensation for their valuable energy and contribution.
I teach a very proactive and flexible approach to therapy, encouraging my supervisees to allow whatever is coming up in the present moment to guide their words and actions. I have learned from very personal, powerful spiritual experiences, that the present moment truly does have everything we need, if we can become skilled at greeting and exploring the moment deeply, with curiosity and compassion. As a theoretical basis, I see the physical body as the gateway to the unconscious. The body already knows how to heal and what to do; it is constantly trying to get our attention, constantly asking for what it needs, but humans have become habituated in repressing those requests and bids for attention. Through mental judgment and/or unconscious habits, humans become stuck in unhelpful patterns and get in the way of their natural healing abilities. My method helps clients focus their conscious minds in a more useful way so they can release what no longer serves them, through inner compassionate witnessing and allowing their higher mind to communicate what the heart deeply knows. Once people learn how to do this, it is like riding a bicycle. They don’t forget, and they simply outgrow their need for regular therapy. Hypnotherapy is one powerful tool that helps clients capitalize on the healing power of focused attention and the natural brain-state of trance, and I provide support and mentorships for other Bloom Therapists who want to learn this tool.
Training is important, but my own life experiences and spiritual insights are even more influential in my work. I do not pressure prospective Bloom Therapists into any specific belief system, nor allow or condone dogmatic teaching. However, I do feel it is important that counselors at Bloom are spiritually curious, and open to helping clients explore their spirituality, in order to be a good fit for our practice. I’m passionate about teaching the therapeutic process from a holistic perspective (one that honors the mind/body/energy/spirit connection), am very eager to share the powerful tools and understandings I have come to know. It is a joy to witness each therapist’s potential unfold, as I have witnessed so many clients bloom into their own potential through this work.
I now use the same skills and techniques I have cultivated with clients over the past decade to help Bloom Therapists grow, heal, and become skilled healers themselves. My time is spent teaching Bloom Therapists in groups, pairs, and individually, providing case consultations and licensed supervision. I provide Bloom Therapy LPC-Associates individualized support, guidance, and education to become phenomenal therapists while simultaneously helping them increase their own self-awareness, and heal any blocks through their own guided self-discovery. I also create educational wellness content and self-development materials for professionals and the general public, such as my free Mindfulness for Healing Series on Youtube, and free monthly True Love Workshops. I’m writing a book to share my spiritual experiences and teach my style of therapy.
I am very selective regarding the therapists I agree to hire, mentor, and contribute to the Bloom Therapy mission. At Bloom Therapy, your heart will be nurtured and honored; you will always be treated with the utmost respect. We have so much gratitude for the privilege of being invited into your healing journey. I feel joy every day for the blessing of being able to do work that fulfills my spirit, and that is in alignment with my highest calling.
