My counseling approach focuses on providing a safe, nonjudgmental, loving space to allow you to feel seen, heard, and accepted for exactly who you are. There are no bad or broken parts – just hurt ones, and in therapy with me, we will gently explore these exiled parts, so you feel whole and light again. I welcome and revere your whole emotional experience, including your shame, aches, anger, and grief. We will let it all breathe and move, increasing your capacity for more self-love, acceptance, approval, and validation.
I am a passionate advocate for providing holistic and trauma informed care. I use the mind-body-spirit connection and nervous system regulation in the healing process. Additionally, my style is integrative, utilizing techniques such as mindfulness, strength-based, solution-focused, narrative, and attachment theory. Through this, we can focus on healing your nervous system, getting to the root cause of dysregulation with somatic exercises, rather than talking about what happened repeatedly. Through this, we will focus on shedding old stories that no longer fit you, so you can try on new ways of feeling, thinking, and being. Additionally, to the extent which you are comfortable, we may use eastern and western spirituality and philosophy to finding meaning and wisdom in suffering and to help soften the heartaches that are beyond your understanding and control. I respect and honor all faiths and can infuse prayer, meditation, astrology, or inspiring readings into your session as needed.
I consider myself a passionate advocate for women’s wellbeing through-out the life span. I use my 15 years of experience as a prenatal and postnatal yoga teacher in the therapy room. My method focuses on empowering women, instilling self-trust and confidence, cultivating body acceptance and positivity, and holding a safe space for miscarriage, infant loss, and birth trauma. Further, I love to work with individuals recovering from narcissistic abuse, parents experiencing parental alienation, or adult survivors of parental alienation. I can help you with coming out of the dense fog, creating firm boundaries, building communication skills, co-parenting with a high conflict ex, handle family court fatigue and stress, and rebuild your beautiful new life. We will work to restore your strength, stability, self-esteem, take back your power, and find your authentic voice. If you are a target parent of parental alienation, I will work with you to magnetize your stolen child or children back to you, witness the complex grief, and instill hope and faith as you wait for your prodigal children to come home.
I firmly believe you are forever unfolding into your own self healer. You are the one you have been waiting for. In therapy with me, I will whole heartedly support you in reclaiming and healing lost parts of yourself, help you to become full of yourself in the best way, and restore your aliveness and hope. It would be an honor to walk alongside you. Healing happens in connection and community, not in hiding and isolation. You are worthy of support, care, and love. I am so proud of you for being here.
I am a midlife warrior and wounded healer who received and accepted the call to evolve into a therapist halfway through life. I received a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Michigan and later a Master of Arts degree in Counseling Psychology at LaSalle University in Philadelphia many moons ago.
I have worked in the fields of neuropsychology, addictions, and rehabilitation. But most of my professional experience has come from holding a safe space for pregnant, postpartum, parenting, and perimenopause populations through yoga, mindfulness, meditation, psycho-education, and astrology. I owned and operated my own successful prenatal and postnatal yoga business in Austin for 15 years which has brought me much fulfillment and joy.
The decision to grow into a therapist at this point of time was both organic and intentional. My passion in wanting to help people take back their power and to create the life they want, is very much informed by my own life experience, story, and healing work.
I value understanding, faith, freedom, and connection. My love language is safety and that is my number one priority in session with you. When I am not working, I enjoy reading astrology charts both professionally and for fun, attending church on Sundays, connecting with friends and family, singing, and staying active.
