The heart of my practice is creating a warm, validating, and honest environment where you feel safe to laugh, cry, and openly explore whatever comes up for you. For me, the therapeutic relationship is a collaborative journey where your voice and perspective are always valued. I would be honored to support you in uncovering new insights, developing healthier coping mechanisms, and ultimately, building a life that feels more aligned with your truest self.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in Relationally Focused Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Experiential techniques. This means that in our time together, we’ll not only address what you’re currently experiencing but also dive deeper into the underlying patterns and beliefs that may be holding you back. Additionally, I love working with with individuals and couples through issues with sex and sexuality, religious trauma, OCD and anxiety, and various childhood wounds. Lastly, I also consider how multiple systems of oppression and structural inequalities impact your wellbeing and any concerns you bring forth.
For couples, I utilize Relational Life Therapy to aid those in relationship transform their dysfunctional patterns, foster deeper and more authentic connections, and address maladaptive relationship interactions as they occur. This approach helps couples develop greater self-awareness and accountability for their roles in whatever challenges they meet. By examining and challenging power imbalances, I help couples understand the underlying dynamics affecting their relationship. Through this, we will work together to heal past traumas and break free from destructive cycles, ultimately empowering each partner to create a more fulfilling, respectful, and intimate connection.
I aim to meet whatever is brought to session with genuine curiosity and compassion, helping you to identify and challenge limiting beliefs while fostering a deeper understanding of yourself. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, knowing yourself and feeling known, or navigating a significant life change, I’m here to openly walk alongside you on your path to find authenticity, healing, and peace.
The inherent challenges of being human are inevitable. However, we also possess an extraordinary capacity for resilience, curiosity, and self-awareness. Together, let’s create a space that brings forth and nurtures these powerful parts of yourself—parts that have been there all along.
My passion for this work actually started with a negative therapeutic experience. The first time I saw a counselor, I left feeling judged, exposed, and uncomfortable. Unfortunately, I found that my experience is shared by many who are seeking healing. I held fast to my belief in the transformative power of a strong therapeutic relationship and this sparked a fire within me to provide the support and care that I sought out many years ago. Since this first experience, I have consistently worked with a therapist that I love for a few years now and seen tremendous growth, met personal goals, and gained valuable insights.
After leaving north Texas to complete my Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a Minor in World Religions from Oklahoma State University, I moved to Austin to pursue a Master of Arts in Counseling from St. Edward’s University. During this time, I gained experience in the field supporting neurodivergent adults in meeting social, career, and independent living goals. I completed a clinical internship at Therapy Austin where I found a love for working with a variety of individuals that inform my current work as a clinician today.
Outside of session, I love to paddle board, try new restaurants, paint my nails, attempt anything crafty, and hang out with my toothless cat.
