My therapeutic approach emphasizes warm and compassionate collaboration to uncover the innate healing capabilities you possess. I recognize that as human beings, we often become stuck in unhelpful patterns as a way to shield ourselves from pain or discomfort, especially in the aftermath of trauma, loss, or attachment injuries. While these protective mechanisms are well-intentioned, they can hinder us from leading a meaningful life. With gentleness and compassion, we can dismantle these stuck patterns, nurture healthier coping strategies, and reconnect with ourselves, our body, others, and our deeply held values.
I take an integrative therapy approach, drawing wisdom from a variety of modalities including EMDR, IFS, attachment theory, somatic and mindfulness-influenced practices, AEDP, Mindful Self-Compassion, ACT, and DBT. Through using these approaches, my attuned presence in the therapy room, and your inner wisdom, we can go beyond traditional talk therapy and embody wholehearted and lasting transformation in your mind, body, relationships, and spirit. With couples, I integrate techniques from Imago and Emotion-Focused Therapy to foster practical changes, such as improved communication and conflict resolution, and develop deep connection and lasting intimacy in their relationship.
My work with clients involves a heart-centered and depth-oriented focus. As we uncover the intricate layers of our inner world, we can venture beyond symptom management and address root causes of our pain and struggles. Through accepting the complexity of all parts of our being, we can embrace both our heart and mind, heal old wounds, and cultivate the holistic person you are in the process of becoming.
Taking the first step towards healing and self-discovery is a courageous choice, and I am here to support you every step of the way. Together, we can navigate the path toward a brighter, more connected, and fulfilling future.
More About Caileigh
After being on the other side of the therapy couch, I knew I was meant to provide that same service to others. I was born and raised in a suburb just outside of Washington DC. I moved to the Midwest to pursue my B.A. in Psychology at the Ohio State University. Post-undergrad and in my Master’s program, I worked as a research associate investigating the links between the opioid epidemic and child maltreatment and evaluating the efficacy of interventions. I enjoy staying in touch with the researcher part of me through the integration of the science and art of psychotherapy. While in grad school, I completed my internships at a survivors of domestic violence advocacy organization and a residential addiction treatment agency. Additionally, I spent many years as a volunteer advocate for a sexual violence crisis organization, assisting survivors during and post-crisis.
After completing my Masters of Social Work, I decided to leave the Midwest winters and move to Austin where I have worked at a variety of settings including psychiatric hospitals, outpatient centers, and private practices working with adults and adolescents. At those settings I worked with a broad-spectrum of concerns including addiction, depression, anxiety, codependency, and of course, trauma. I’ve found working with folks who’ve experienced trauma to be my passion, as we work to heal their nervous system, break free from the past, and move towards empowerment. I consider myself to be a life-long learner and find myself reading psychotherapy or self-help books. You’re welcome to ask what I’m currently reading or provide suggestions for my ever-growing list of future books! Out of sessions, you can find me on a walk in the shade or enjoying the sun. When the Austin heat is a bit too much, I enjoy staying indoors to read, paint, and play with my two rescue cats – Oswald and Cosmo.
