Clinical Approach & Specialties
I believe therapy is most powerful when it is a collaborative process where client and therapist work together to create meaningful, sustainable growth and change. Healing occurs when individuals feel safe enough to explore and express their thoughts, feelings and stories without judgment. Through this process of increasing self-awareness, and by reclaiming a sense of control and autonomy, people can begin to access the solutions and strengths they need to move forward.
My role as a therapist is to act as a guide, witness, advocate and respectful challenger. I help clients imagine ideal outcomes, ask reflective questions, validate their experiences and offer insights and coping strategies when helpful.
My approach draws from psychodynamic, solution-focused, narrative and structural methodologies, while viewing the client’s past, present and future as interconnected. By understanding how the past informs the present, clients gain the clarity and power to shape the future.
I define growth as a deeper sense of self, improved relationships, symptom relief, and the ability to face life with confidence, flexibility and purpose. I know change is happening when clients can identify their own strengths, respond to challenges with awareness, and feel a greater sense of agency, especially when life and relationships can be difficult and uncertain. Your path forward is yours to shape, and I’m excited to support you as you navigate that journey with intention and care.
Originally from Dallas, TX, I earned my Bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. I later completed my Master of Arts in Marriage (Couples) and Family Therapy at the California School of Professional Psychology in Los Angeles, CA. I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate in Texas, practicing under the supervision of an LMFT-Supervisor.
My clinical training took place at The Maple Counseling Center in Los Angeles where I provided therapy to adolescents, adults and families from many different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. Working in an intensive training environment with a strong culture of collaboration helped me develop a steady, relational and deeply curious therapeutic presence.
Before becoming a therapist, I spent several years working across both the nonprofit and corporate sectors in New York City and Los Angeles. Moving between these worlds gave me a firsthand understanding of the pressures people face in their careers, relationships and major life transitions. It also taught me the importance of balance, boundaries and tending to one’s mental health even in high-demand seasons of life. These personal and professional experiences continue to shape how I hold space for clients today: with empathy, respect and a recognition that even positive change can often feel overwhelming.
After spending nearly a decade living in California and New York, I’m grateful to be back in Austin, TX; the place that first felt like home when I was a student here years ago. Outside of the therapy room, I enjoy exploring Austin’s neighborhoods and trails, cooking for friends and family, reading, and creating space for quiet, grounding routines. I bring that same intention and presence into my work, meeting clients where they are and walking alongside them as they navigate the complexities of being human.
