My counseling style is collaborative and empowering, with a focus on cultivating a therapeutic environment that invites authenticity, embodiment, trust, insight, creativity, and humor. The core of my therapeutic work is to help clients tap into their innate ability to grow and heal in order to connect to a life more deeply grounded in meaning and joy. Within a safe, empathetic, and nonjudgmental space, I invite you to examine inner beliefs and how they shape your behaviors, relationships, and emotional wellbeing. I believe that, with compassion and curiosity, sitting in the present with what is can be truly transformational. In the light of presence and awareness, the path to self-actualization, healing, and inner peace is illuminated.
My approach is humanistic, existential, holistic, and mindfulness based. I will meet you where you are at with warmth and compassion while also gently challenging you to break old patterns that may no longer serve you. I am trained in providing trauma-informed care, including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a trauma-processing intervention. Breathwork, guided meditation, Emotional Freedom Technique, and parts work are other tools I might incorporate in our work together, though sessions are personalized to your goals and individual needs.
One of my passions is destigmatizing mental health care. Caring for our emotional health is just as important as – and indivisible from – tending to our physical health. When we process emotions and experiences in healthy ways, we create better relationships with ourselves and others and contribute to cultivating healthier communities around us.
I am body-positive, feminist, and committed to the ethics of cultural humility. I welcome clients from all gender, sexual, racial, religious, and cultural identities and am dedicated to the self-education, advocacy, and introspection needed to maintain a safe and identity-affirming therapeutic space.
I am profoundly grateful for the growth, healing, and awakening I have had in my life, and consider my counseling work an expression of that gratitude. It is an honor to engage in the meaningful work of holding space for others as they develop greater authenticity, resilience, wholeness, and wellbeing.
I hold a Bachelor of Science in Communication from the University of Massachusetts and a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health from the University of North Texas. I built my clinical experience providing counseling to adult individuals and couples within a community clinic and a holistic private practice. Working with a diversity of clients across a wide range of issues within these settings reinforced my belief that individuals are best understood in the context of the systems of which they are a part. I recognize the role that our communities and intersecting identities play in how each of us navigates our lives and use that lens within my therapeutic work.
An element of the counseling profession I truly love is the never-ending opportunity to grow and learn as a counselor. It is a lifelong pursuit that aligns with my innate curiosity and desire to continue to evolve as a person and a therapist. I can often be found reading theory, listening to podcasts, enrolling in trainings, and seeking out the wisdom of teachers I admire in the counseling field. In this way, I believe that clients and I are learning and growing together, and I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity to intersect wherever our paths cross on those individual journeys.
I have a long-standing interest in contemplative practices and expanded states of consciousness. I enjoy working with clients wanting to integrate transpersonal experiences and translate them into lasting healing and growth.
In my free time I enjoy listening to the crackle of campfires, dog-earing recipes, taking neighborhood walks, using vintage cameras, and seeking out swimming holes. I consider nature one of my best teachers.
